Every pair of CREO glasses is born in the workshop behind the shop, at via Cristoforo Colombo 163/A. Here is what really happens in those 2-3 days.
1. The measure
It starts with the size: lens width, bridge and temple length, taken on your face or read from the inside of the temple of your current glasses. Made to measure means the frame is born with your proportions, not adapted afterwards.
2. Choosing the materials
My catalog holds 95 woods and finishes: species like ebony, santos rosewood, maple and zebrano, but also slate, ceramic, cork, real resin-coated leaves and flowers. Every board has different grain: we choose the very piece of wood together.
3. Cutting and building
I design in 3D and cut with CNC, then everything else is by hand: shaping, joints, hinges, lens seats. This is where five generations of woodworking make the difference.
4. The lenses
Certified UV400 protection as standard, polarized on request, 13 colors among solid, gradient and mirrored. As an optician, I also fit prescription lenses on the same wooden frame.
5. Engraving and finishing
Protective treatment against water and sweat, polishing and free engraving up to 15 characters. Then the case: Classic Jute or Collapsible Cork.
6. Delivery
If you are in Positano, you collect them in the shop and I adjust them on your face. If you order online, I ship with UPS or FedEx: 2-3 days in Europe, about one week for the rest of the world.
